Amazon’s Answer to PayPal

Amazon is rolling out its new online payment service. This is a direct answer to Google’s Checkout and eBay’s PayPal, which has been ubiquitous mode of online payment .

Recently PayPal offers disposable credit card service for secured online purchase as form of browser extension.  The solution expands the use of PayPal to other merchants beyond eBay.

Similarly, Amazon new online payment will be heavily promoted at Amazon site as a "complete checkout solution" with features such as Amazon’s "one-click" payment option and tools for managing shipping charges, sales tax and promotions.  But in near future Amazon will extent the solution to other online merchants as well.
