Can You Speak in 140 Characters?

I just received the beta code to try TwitterFone, a free voice to text transcription service that allows Twitter user to post an update with voice via the phone. The service basically transcribes your voice in to text and posts on your Twitter account along with the link to the audio.

imageThis could be a very powerful tool when using the service to send SMS text that can blast to all your followers (could be in the thousands for some folks) at the same time.

The registration process is simple. The site asks your  for your email, TwitterFone password and Twitter credentials.

Subsequently you will be given a country long distance phone number to update your Twitter. The update came about 5 minutes later with very good transcription accuracy.

The same service has been available with Jott for sometime (with a toll free phone number). But if you just want a light weight way to update your Twitter on the go, this seems to be the right choice.

TwitterFone is currently in Beta but accepting users registration.
