Google Spills the Beans: Google Calendar and Gmail Will Go “Gearable” Offline too!

In a logic move after the Google Docs went offline using Gears open source browser extension. Some signs emerged today that the offline feature would come to Gmail and Google Calendar soon.

 

"Gears on Gmail and Calendar in approximately 6 weeks. Just had a preview at Google offices. Not sure if it is Google Enterprise only," said Andrew Fogg, chief marketing and strategy officer for Web 2.0 consultancy Kusiri, in a Twitter post Thursday.

We don’t think this move will be a real threat to Microsoft Office Suite or its Exchange services but at least it spells the ambition from Google for its future strategy.
