If you are already in the waiting line in front of any Apple store for this Friday and you have been a proud iPhone owner. Just for you, Apple just posted an article showing iPhone user how to replace your iPhone to 3G iPhone with the same or different carrier.
If you follow these steps to backup your original iPhone first, and then restore the backup to your iPhone 3G, your saved SMS messages, email accounts, photos, notes, and other personal settings will be present on your iPhone 3G.
