The new Apple 3G adds many needed features such faster 3G network connection, Exchange push email and MobileMe sync integration with Web based and offline PIM apps. Picture and files sync and lastly, the support for third party app. However many features that are still missing this time around. Some of them might be more important to you than others but many of them are considered basic features that many dumb phone already have.

  • MMS messaging (Multimedia messaging) – A popular feature allowing user to send pictures to other cellphone.
  • Higher resolution camera lens. The 2MP is carried over from the current model
  • Video recording
  • Video chat lacking: it is a pretty much a standard feature for Europe and Asia
  • Copy and paste – For Smartphone, text Copy/Paste is a feature that one might use frequently to minimize the text entry effort
  • Voice command for a smart device that has microphone. Voice dialing and voice memo should’ve been included.
  • Flash support: the ubiquitous Flash format used by YouTube alike sites across Internet still can not been streamed to the iPhone natively.
  • Bluetooth Stereo A2DP- Bluetooth Modem – Bluetooth File Transfer. The Bluetooth chip is already present for hand-free dialing. would that be much to add A2DP for the Music focused device.
  • iPhone’s on-screen keyboard to flip horizontally for some applications but not for others (emails , Notes). The predictive text is missing the capability to turn off.

Well, there are still MacWorld and WWDC 2010 and Christmas between. Let’s hope….
