Animoto is out of Beta
Animoto.com is a web application that creates MTV-style videos with the click of a button.
Users simply choose a song and images. Animoto then automatically generates a unique video for them. No two videos are ever the same.
Many of the post-production techniques that the founders used while working as producers for MTV, Comedy Central & ABC are used in Animoto’s patent-pending Cinematic Artificial Intelligence developed to think like an actual editor and director. The resulting video is produced in a widescreen format, containing the visual energy of a music video and the emotional impact of a movie trailer.
User can create 30 sec videos for free. For longer videos, the site charges $3 each or $30 per year. The final production can be embedded or send to Youtube.
Since the first launch in August of 2007:
- 4 million videos have been made on the Animoto platform
- more than 250,000 users in 200-some countries have registered on Animoto.com
- Animoto vids have been watched over 50 million times on Animoto.com, blogs, social networks, video sharing sites and web sites around the world!
To celebrate the first birthday here are a few new features on Animoto.com:
- Cover image: Tired of our green screen? Now you can pick any image to be used as the cover of your video!
- iPhone: Use Mobile Safari to watch your vids on your iPhone. (And a big hush-hush…but keep your eyes out for our iPhone app coming soon!)
- Logos and panoramics: If you’ve tried to make videos from these odd-sized images in the past, you’ve realized that we didn’t do a great job with them. But we’ve improved that, so check it out. animoto.com
