If you have correspondence international, you’ll be glad to know Microsoft  has just released a new translation bot for Windows Live Messenger.

This will allow you to chat with friends speaking  different languages while the bot does the translations for you. To use the new bot, just add mbot@hotmail.com to your contact list. Be kind to use clear and simple language to avoid possible undesirable trouble.

At the moment, the translation bot support the following languages:

  • imageEnglish to/from:
    • Arabic
    • Chinese Simplified
    • Chinese Traditional
    • Dutch
    • French
    • German
    • Italian
    • Japanese
    • Korean
    • Portuguese
    • Russian (RUS->ENU only)
    • Spanish
  • Chinese Simplified <-> Chinese Traditional

More languages will be added over the next few months.
A very cool thing for Windows Mobile user, Microsoft also says that the bot can be used in Windows Live Messenger on your smartphone for quick translations when you’re abroad. You can download WLM from HERE or you can get all the mobile tools from:  http://www.gowindowslive.com/Mobile/Landing/Home/Default.aspx
