Best Buy is Selling Unlocked HTC Touch Diamond
We told you last April that the UK’s giant cellphone retailer Carphone warehouse is backing Best Buy for the unlocked phone retail operations in US. Today in addition to the debut of iPhone 3G sale outside of AT&T and Apple store (this has nothing to do with the unlocked phone), Best Buy has also made available the HTC Diamond GSM unlocked for $700.
We thought the HTC Diamond will debut first in CDMA flavor at Sprint and later its sibling, the Touch Pro GSM will joint AT&T when it changes its name to FUZE. But the unlocked GSM is indeed on the orderable (with “available soon” status however) Best Buy page.
It is still questionable whether the device for sale supports US 3G network. The Best Buy specs page indicates quad band GSM without much details.
