Great Revolutionary Multi-Touch Modular Cell

A new company called MultiTouch based in Finland has come up with a surface-like screen, which is acting just like any multi-touch big screen at first glance, but the meet of this project is the stacking capability. You can virtually create a wall of touch screen just by staking these 32” or 46” modules together for an impressive 60 fps video with incredibly smooth video transition.

The MultiTouch LCDs are controlled by the MultiTouch CornerStone software. Cornerstone handles the core multitouch functionality, tracking users hands as they move on the screen. In addition CornerStone includes a powerful interaction and rendering engine, that is based on industry standard libraries and protocols.

The MultiTouch Cell is also flexible when it comes to installation size. Want a bigger display – then just add another module. Want to run 4 or 6 displays – just add more graphics cards to your computer. Want to scale to even bigger sizes – just add more computers, some Ethernet and you are ready to build displays 5 m, 10 m or 20 m long. In fact our multitouch software and hardware allows for display sizes to only be limited by your imagination. The Cells also work at any angle or orientation so you can build walls, tables or floors.

I think the developers just missed the “one-of-a-lifetime” opportunity to sell this to the Beijing Olympic committee!
