Nokia Comes with Music
Where there is not much more to add to the low-cost cellphone to gain competitive edge. Nokia has come up with a clever way to differentiate with the competitor and actually make its phone more compelling with the new “free” music subscription called CwM.
The initial subscription fee is basically included in to the initial price. The first handset is the pre-paid 5310 XpressMusic but we must expect more models to come. As you understand, the handsets must support the DRM feature for music playback and It sounds like user can keep the music as long as the handset lasts. The UK outlet Carphone Warehouse will sell this handset wrapped with 1 year subscription. It is still unclear about the subscription renewal, but I guess there will be a monthly fee afterward. Further details about Comes With Music will be announced at a Nokia event to be held in London on October 2, 2008.
