Password Protection in IE and Firefox
You remember when Firefox & IE Prompt You To Remember Passwords – Do You Say Yes ? so next time you don’t have to type it again right?
Do you know, by doing this without extra caution, anybody can sit on the computer for few seconds can easily retrieve those passwords whether they are from your bank account, your eBay ID or your PayPal credential.
Firefox shows them just by clicking on Tools-Tools -> Options -> Security -> Show Passwords or Saved Passwords.
The sites you visited, your ID and passwords associated will be all there. Try it, you will see!
For IE, it is a little bit tricky but doable just by using a free 35kb tool called IE PassView.
The tool automatically displays a list all auto-complete entries saved inside IE.
The extra caution I urge you to take is just uncheck “Prompt me to save passwords” in Internet Explorer and “Set Master Password” in Firefox.
