DIAL2DO: Voice Service For Email, Twitter, etc..
Jott has been the king of all things you can do with your voice over the phone. Few weeks ago, Jott started charging users for its services (basic services remain free). Jott seems to a new competitor, Dial2Do, which is a free voice-activated service (at least during the Beta period).
You can use your voice over your phone to check email, add contacts, send emails, sms text messages, reminders, appointments & weather and even foreign language translations
Here are some of the things you can do by dialling Dial2Do:
- “Listen to Email” Listen to your emails. You can even reply while listening. You will need to provide your email account details to use this command.
- “Twitter” Posts an Update to your twitter feed.
- “Jaiku” Posts an update to your Jaiku feed.
- “Translate” Translates what you say into another language and sends it back to you as a text message.
- “Weather” Listen to the weather in your location.
- “Calendar” Listen to your calendar and add appointments
Any time you want to do something, you dial your local access number for Dial2Do and Dial2Do will guide you through getting whatever you want done.
For example, to send an email…
- D2D says "What would you like to do?" : You say "Email"
- D2D says "Email Who?" : You say "Dave"
- D2D says "Record your Email" : You say "Hello Dave, I’m trying out this life changing service called Dial2Do"
Hang up and D2D sends the email. Your friends will get an email to read what you said, and also a link so they can hear the original audio.
