Google Android G1 Reviews
As usual, some prominent journalists and bloggers have received the T-Mobile G1 for testing and today is the day they all published a review.
The overall impressions are positive on this phone, which complements the current smartphone landscape. Users might choose The G1 for its real (but not perfect) keyboard. The integration with Google app on the desktop side, synchronization with the cloud and the Google simple, clean but efficient interface riding on a very snappy OS.
However the scattered G3 coverage and the lack of Apple shininess might be a problem for many people .
The phone will be release next Wednesday for $179 (with 2 yr contract). Its data plan costs $25 monthly including 400 free text messages, and $35 plan that includes unlimited text messages. And both plans include free use of T-Mobile’s Wi-Fi hotspots. Read the reviews: Walt Mossberg , Om Malik, Engadget

My impression from reading the various reviews is that it’s going to be pretty hot. The keyboard is much better than most.
It’s not the most attractive phone in the world, but makers are already coming out with cases to cover it up. http://www.sfbags.com . There are already unboxing videos on YouTube too.
I want to know how to get on that editor list so I can get mine early next time. No fair…
