Jott for iPhone. The voice-powered notepad
We shared with you how to be productive just by using your voice with various features offered by Jott.
Recently Jott changed their business model by adding some paid plans (premium and pay as-you-go). Fortunately, the new Jott app for iPhone is still part of the free services.
Jott for iPhone is the mobile notepad for the iPhone that turns your voice into notes. Capture your to-dos as quickly as you can say "Get strawberries for dessert." Jott transcribes your voice into text and place the resulting notes in your lists. When you complete items, just cross them off with a swipe of your finger.
All of your lists are backed up on Jott.com, where you can manage them when you are at your computer. For existing Jott customers, your lists and notes will load after you’ve downloaded the app.

Download the free application from the Apple App Store. To record a note, tap anywhere on the record screen, then tap again to end recording. Then wait a few moments while the file is sent up to our servers (Wireless and 3G networks will be faster than EDGE).
When you are connected to the Internet, your Jott Express will sync with the Jott website – making sure it always contains the most recent to-dos you’ve added, no matter where you are.
Q: How do I get it?
A: The Jott for iPhone application is available from the Apple App Store on your iPhone.
Q: Do I need a Jott account?
A: Yes, you do. If you already have one, you’ll be prompted to enter your account information when you download Jott for iPhone. If you don’t have an account, you’ll be taken through a quick set of prompts where you’ll enter your phone number and create a password. A text message will be sent to you with a validation code, simply reply to that text message with the code you are given and your account will be set when you return to the Jott for iPhone app.
Q: Do you sell my personal information?
A: Jott has never, and will never, sell your personal information to anyone. We take our customers’ privacy very seriously and would never invade that. Our privacy policy is always available for anyone to read.
Q: Why do you need my phone number?
A: We need your phone number for one simple reason– when you download the Jott for iPhone app and are new to Jott, you need to essentially create a Jott account. Jott accounts do require that you give us a phone number because we began as a service accessible via any phone at 866-JOTT-123. Your phone number is your username in effect. For now we’ve kept the iPhone app really focused on notes, but via our phone number you can create reminders, send hands-free texts and emails and use popular Jott Links like Twitter, Amazon and Google Calendar.
Q: I did not receive the text message validation when registering for Jott for iPhone. How do I finish registering?
A: Due to overwhelming response for the Jott for iPhone app we’ve been a little backed up. Not to worry though, the SMS will reach you! If it’s been a day or so and you are still having trouble getting registered, please submit a support form explaining that you did not get the text and we’ll email you your validation code. Then you’ll just need to call Jott (866-JOTT-123) and key in or speak that code. You can also go to the Jott homepage and register online.
How much does the Jott for iPhone application cost?
A: It’s free!
Q: How do I create a list?
A: From any of your lists, tap the ‘Edit’ button and then the New List icon. Enter the name of your list and tap ‘Save’. That’s it! A copy of this list will also appear on your www.Jott.com account so you’ll always have a backup.
