image As promised, at PDC 2008, Microsoft unveiled the next version of Windows OS, Windows 7 (the 7th iteration of Windows OS). The next version, hopefully will come to the rescue to the tarnished image of the current Windows Vista.

In the new version (a developer kit was made available to PDC attendees), Microsoft focuses on improving start up and shut down elapsed time. (instant on/off could be present); the overall performance; a new taskbar to facilitate multiple open windows and the long awaited multi-touch input support .

Ina Fried from Cnet had a chance to interview Mike Nash, Microsoft Windows VP.
