Perfectly in time for the gloomy economy, Asus releases an Macbook Air alike for the rest of us, who are broke, but broke with style, aren’t we?

The SSD based S101 sports a 10” screen (1024×600), weights just 2.2lbs and a .7 inches thin and all the same standard features on Atom based  Netbook.

Regrettably, the sleek form factor  requires a non-replaceable, 5-hour polymer battery.  Comes in Brown, Graphite and Champagne colors.

On the pricing side:
16GB SSD, 16GB SD, Windows XP: $699
32GB, Linux: $699
64GB, Linux: $799

Why is this listed as a non-removable battery? The photos point out that the battery is removable: http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/blog/2008/oct/07/gadgets.windows
