Windows Mobile 6.5 Got Mentioned

image During Motorola’s Thursday earnings call, Sanjay Jha, Co-CEO Motorola and chief executive of mobile devices, confirmed the rumor we heard previously that Motorola will reduce their phone OS to 3 platforms: Google Android, Windows Mobile and their proprietary P2K. 

Jha mentioned something that woke up Windows Mobile enthusiasts: Motorola expects to release a phone based on Windows Mobile 6.5 platform in the second half of 2009…as well as Android based phone as Moto’s mid- and high-tier market.

We knew WM7 release is scheduled hopefully for 2010 but this is the first time we heard the interim WM 6.5 from an executive. There is no further details.
