Apple Will Debut Netbook in 2009
According to Arstechnica, Technology Business Research, Inc. analyst Ezra Gottheil suggests that Apple will enter to the affordable Netbook sometime next year if it is not sooner (MacWorld?) – "Apple is facing the possibility that as the economic news gets worse, they’re increasingly pricing themselves out of an important market," said Gottheil in his latest research note. "Economic conditions are accelerating this."
However, one should expect the Apple netbook will be very different than the current crop out there. At the last earning call, Steve Jobs pointedly stated "We don’t know how to make a $500 computer that’s not a piece of junk," further he also said that the company was keeping an eye on the "nascent" netbook market. "We’ve got some pretty interesting ideas if it does evolve,"
