image While Microsoft already operates a Windows MarketPlace store since 2004, with more austere look of look of Vista. It decides to open up a spanking new online retail store called simply  Microsoft Store with a modern dark design, distances itself with the light Vista aqua blue.

The store carries Microsoft software and hardware Office, Windows, Xbox, Games and Zune. Microsoft is clearly preparing for the holiday season in a very turmoil economy condition.

Where perhaps small e-tailers might suffer most the downturn and obviously consumers would turn to few big names such Best Buy, Amazon for their online shopping. Microsoft thinks it can be part of that circle with its influence on the PC and Xbox marketplace.
