More on Moto VE66…The Mobile Linux Powered Phone
Yesterday, we mentioned Motorola start its courtship to Mobile app developer on its own mobile OS platform. The first phone hardware + OS for this platform is the Moto VE66.
Today we received more details about this handset:
“The mobile-Linux powered MOTO VE66 opens new horizons of mobile development. A quad-band GSM device with WiFi connectivity, the VE66 features a compact slider design, a 5.0 megapixel camera with flash and auto-focus, 30fps video capture and playback, and Widows Media Player 11 and Janus DRM for media files.
Motorola is introducing the WebUI application environment in the VE66, which also offers a Java ME environment. The WebUI environment supports standard Web languages, protocols, URLs and encoding schemes, enabling widgets and Web 2.0 applications through Motorola’s WebUI APIs. Both environments support iTap input and most common media formats.”
