Update: Oosah Android Beta app has just started. It’s free for life for the first 5,000 people! Now you can really take advantage of your 1TB of media on the go and stream all your mp3s and pics on your G1 phone. Remember this is a beta, so e-mail webmaster@oosah.com with any questions, problems, or suggestions.

Oosah

imageA new Web service called Oosah offers 1TB or 1,000GB hosting for free. After an easy and free registration, we will be presented with 2-pane File-Explorer-like screen, where you can further customize/mange folders. The site only allows to upload media files and you can share the media or playlist with friends with the provided URL. The file size is limited to 200MB/video file and 9MB/audio file.

One nice addition with the already cool and simple interface is the ability to connect to your  Flickr, YouTube, Facebook, PicasaWeb accounts so the medias can be imported to your Oosah work space. (I could not make Flickr to connect, due to an API glitch!). The imported media don’t take off the space allowance, since they only are pointers to the original contents.

User can create playlist, slideshow (with uploaded pix, not with connected pix from PicasaWeb), Podcast or syndicate the contents. A Link and embedded code are provided.

install client software? do you mean Facebook or youtube or Picasaweb?

SolSie October 15, 2008

Sorry, my bad! The goal of Oosah is to upload and share over the Web. There is no way to download to other desktop (They want to avoid lawsuit, perhaps!)

There is a java batch downloader client that is available for beta testers, which I am a part of. Sounds like it is what you are talking about.

You should contact them if you want to try it out.
