REDFLY is Preparing for 2nd Launch
Betting on corporate Windows Mobile users, REDFLY is fighting back despite the popularity of the Netbook.
REDFLY, the Netbook-like device is designed as an extension adding large display and keyboard to your already capable Windows Mobile Smartphone, which offers many equivalent apps to the desktop counterpart (e.g. Office suite) and the “always on Connectivity.
REDLY device can connect seamlessly and wirelessly to the WM smartphone, providing larger display and larger keyboard.
We saw the first generation was sold at $500 with lukewarm reception and the price gradually dropped to $200.
But REDFLY is determined to make a comeback with 2 new devices: The C7 and the C8N (avail respectively Nov 24th and Dec 1st, 2008).
Celio’s REDFLY C7 ($229) offers a 7-inch display, which is smaller and lighter than original REDFLY. The C8N has the same form factor (8”) as the original REDFLY with the additional “REDFLY Media Port” allowing a TV-out display. ($299).
