At the Under the Radar: Mobility conference on Wednesday, representatives from U.S. wireless carriers Verizon Wireless, Alltell, T-Mobile, and AT&T and many mobile developers discussed about the state of mobile application on Smartphone.

The interesting discussion is about the mobile application. As hardware has become very capable combined with faster network speed and bigger bandwidth. The balance of providing killer apps to cater perhaps a small number of power users versus the support cost that carriers to spend to support much larger non-sophisticated user crowd. Whether the Apple model where tied control for app is strictly enforce to ensure stability of the platform or the open source model from Google Android….
