Witty, Twitter Client for Windows
I have been a TwitterFox user, but with the recent Google Chrome and Firefox 3.1 Beta testing, the extension is not useable. So I have to fire up another tab in my browser to check my Twitter and hit the refresh frequently. I was looking for either AIR or a standalone app and I run in to this great app called Witty.
Witty, the Windows Twitter client powered by WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation), is great stand alone app. In the latest version 1.9.0, you will find Twitter traditional features:
- View recent Twitter statuses from the people you follow (auto-refreshing)
- View recent replies to you
- View a specific user’s timeline
- Update your twitter status
- View and respond to Direct Messages
- Links will open in the user’s default browser
Witty features pleasant UI with 3 different skins to choose from, Aero (the default), Aero Compact, and Cool Blue. The Blue theme . Witty can be minimized to the tray and can be set to play sounds for incoming tweets or a little pop-up messages appear just above your system tray.
