Apple Macworld Thrives Despite Economy Downturn
As the new year 2009 is right around the corner, so are the CES (Consumer Electronic Show) and the Apple Macworld. With the economy downturn, lots of speculation indicate that such venues will scale down. But contrary to the rumor, IDG vice president and general manager of Macworld Expo Paul Kent confirms, in its 25th year, Macworld Expo 2009 will be "at least the same size as last year." … "Despite the concerns with the economy, we’re pushing forward and everything is really looking great," Kent assured us. "This really shows the strength of the Mac community." [Source: ArsTechnica]
In addition to the above optimistic statement, D: All Things Digital is saying that Apple plans to release something from "a completely new device category" next year. He fails to explain exactly what such a product might encompass, but speculates that it will be based around a processor designed by the former P.A. Semi engineering team. This could relate to the information we posted earlier HERE.
As the Macworld looms in the near distance, one should expect speculation start making the round all over Blogosphere. Please take them with a big grain of salt until Steve reveals on stage.
