Firefox 3.1 Beta 2 Released
The new beta 2 of Firefox 3.1 is now available for download. Few nice features from Google Chrome have been implemented in this release including:
- Private Browsing Mode
- Tab tearing (drag tab out to a new window or drag a window to a tab)
- Faster TraceMonkey Javascript engine.
- Support for new web technologies such as the <video> and <audio> elements, the W3C Geolocation API, JavaScript query selectors, CSS 2.1 and 3 properties, SVG transforms and offline applications. (no need for Plug-ins)
If you plan to download and test drive the new version, it goes to a new directory. And most existing extensions will not work. But if you do need absolutely to use some of them, you can try this trick [Courtesy of LifeHacker], it works well for me. Read more the release notes
