The app lets people compare 2 different things – either prices or nutritional info – in either the same units or different ones.
Here’s an example. Say you’re shopping, and looking at 2 bottles of cold pills. One has 78 pills and costs $5.99, and the other has 56 pills and costs $4.99. It’s not that easy to figure out which one is the better buy. Apples2Oranges does it for you – just put in the info and see the result.
Products you buy are also show measurement information based different units: one roll of wrapping paper is measured in feet, and another in meters. The app handles the conversion and comparison in one step. Again, just enter the info, and it tells you the real price per foot for each one.
For food products, In addition to price info, Apples2Oranges lets you compare nutritional info. It’s really useful when the calories, sodium, sugar – whatever you’re watching – is listed in different serving sizes. Have you ever tried figuring out what’s healthier – a 1 cup serving of something with 300 calories, or a 180 milliliter serving with 200 calories? I have, and it’s not easy. But now it is – you can just put the info into Apples2Oranges, and get the result, in a way you can use.
