CrunchPad, the $299 touchscreen tablet
Michael Arrington and his team at TechCrunch had decided to take action on building a touchscreen tablet and call it CrunchPad, a 12-inch touchscreen running Ubuntu Linux. The tablet is powered with a Via Nano processor, 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB flash drive for the OS ban the browser cache. WiFi and even an accelerometer are on board. The OS is Ubuntu Linux with a home brew Webkit based browser The prototype came out for around $299. Take a look at the prototype in action.
