image According to Apple spoke person, starting today iTunes users can upgrade their music libraries with a click of a button. For an additional 30 cents per song, users can receive a DRM-free version of their existing tracks at a 256-kbps bit rate.

The DRM-free version will be in AAC format (same as the current DRM-free offering from EMI)  instead of the popular mp3 but thankfully more and more music players start supporting AAC including the Sony’s newer Walkman players, Microsoft’s Zune and the next version of Windows Media Player.  [Via Cnet]
