Verizon prefers Microsoft Search over Google and Yahoo for Cellphone

image Microsoft has scored a major deal, securing a mobile search Internet for cell phones contract with Verizon and beating out more popular rivals Google and Yahoo.

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer will likely discuss the mobile carrier’s choice during his keynote address at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas tonight. Specifics on the deal remain sketchy, but experts estimate that it could generate as much as $650 million in guaranteed annual revenue.  [Source Reuter]
