NewACT announced today that it has made its world leading mobile synchronization and virtualization service open to mobile consumers around the world. The first public release of the service is focused on global, mass market support.

The service, branded vufone(R) allows users to synchronize their phone to the cloud, manage the phone from the web and connect the data to a variety of internet services and applications. Vufone is available globally regardless of mobile device or network at http://www.vufone.com; and is currently provided in English, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), French, Spanish,

German, Russian, Dutch and Portuguese.

"Mobile users deserve mobile freedom," said Rafi Ton, CEO of NewACT. "And freedom is the ability to manage and protect mobile content automatically, seamlessly and securely regardless of decisions about mobile operator and device selection. Achieving that is our mission and focus."

The vufone service is focused on mass market phones using J2ME, Symbian and Windows Mobile platforms. Future releases are planned to include dedicated clients for iPhone, Blackberry and Google Android.

Amongst others, the service offers the following benefits: Full phone virtualization, bi-directional synchronization, access and management of the user’s data including contacts, calendar, photos, videos, music and files; Picture and video uploading to a personal area and to social networks such as Facebook; Synchronization of mobile media files to services such as Flickr,

Picasa, Youtube
and between the personal computer and the mobile phone; Extending Outlook to the mobile phone using an outlook plugin; Simple, over the air, user data transfer between devices when, for example, upgrading a phone while assuring data integrity and adaptation to the new device; Ability to send pictures from any web site directly to the phone using vufone’s MSIE or FireFox plugins.

The image shows a wrong domain name. It should be vufone and not Vuphone.

Hey SolSie, another good outlook plugin is Outlook Track-It. I don’t use it for devices, but it gave me a toolbar that helps me set reminders for followup emails. Even the recipient can be reminded.
