ComedyTime, the well known comedy network on mobile, today announced a partnership with Zannel, the leading Instant Media Network(TM), to create the first comedy standup video application available on the iPhone.

The Joke-A-Day application, available soon in the iPhone App Store, will provide iPhone users with on-the-go entertainment featuring ComedyTime’s top standup comedians and their Funnysodes(R) – original short-form episodic programming. Every day, users’ iPhones will buzz as the video joke of the day is delivered to their phone. The application also enables viewers to instantly comment and discuss performances in real-time. This is the first of three ComedyTime applications to be released by Zannel over the next month.

ComedyTime produces short-form video comedy content for mobile, broadband, cable and broadcast television and is one of the Top 10 Leading Mobile Video Channels. ComedyTime is currently available on-deck on Sprint, Verizon, and other leading North American carriers.

Zannel, which stands for zillions of channels, enables major media companies, independent artists, and other content providers to mobilize, monetize, syndicate, and build community around their content on mobile and the web. Anyone can create a channel at Zannel.com to instantly see and share what’s going on through video, picture, and text updates.

"Our focus on mobile entertainment is a perfect match for Zannel’s technology," said David Goldman, CEO of ComedyTime. "We’re excited to provide a place for stand-up comedians around the country to reach their fans on their iPhones."
