image According to a  Bloomberg report, McNamee, the co-founder of Elevation Partners, the investment firm that agreed in December to pay $100 million to lift its stake in Palm to 39 percent from 25 percent, firmly believes that when the Palm Pré  on Sprint network is released, Palm will be in the position to lure iPhone users especially the ones who committed to the gen-1 iPhone.

“You know the beautiful thing: June 29, 2009, is the two- year anniversary of the first shipment of the iPhone,” McNamee said today in an interview in San Francisco. “Not one of those people will still be using an iPhone a month later.” Roger McNamee said.

The date mentioned implies by June 29, the Palm Pré should be available. However many chatters around the Internet give strong indicators that Sprint will release the unit much before that date.
