image Skype’s native VoIP client  Skype for iPhone will finally be available to download from the iTunes App Store sometime tomorrow, Tuesday 3/31.

The client UI has been changed to match the iPhone scheme. All the same functionalities including, chat, Skype in/out, conference call are all there except video call. Skype seems to be consistent with all its mobile clients.

In May, Skype will make its client software available for Research In Motion’s BlackBerry devices. skype has already announced Skype for Nokia phones and for phones based on Android, Google’s mobile system, and Windows Mobile, from Microsoft.

On the iPhone, call over Skype only works with WiFi not the cellphone data plan. Chatting however, will work.

For iPod Touch users, since the device does not have a microphone, they would need earphones with an embedded mic to talk. For Skype out feature (ability to call to a land line or a regular phone number), user can even purchase minute credit directly from the phone.
