World’s cheapest Automobile goes on sale

India’s Tata Motors will launch its extra-cheap 10 feet (3 metres) long Nano car in Mumbai on Monday, selling for 100,000 rupees or $1,979 (£1,366).

The Indian had ambitious plan to acquire luxury makes such Jaguar and Land Rover, but it does not forget its core market of mass population.  On Monday, with a mere $2000, you can be the proud owner of the four-door five-seater car powered by a rear mounted 33bhp, 624cc engine. It has no airbags, air conditioning, radio, or power steering.

So if you are still on the fence to spend $2,000 either on an fashionable Adamo Dell laptop or on a red spanking new 5 door car….decision, decision!  [Via BBC]
