2GHz Intel Atom unveiled
With the unexpected huge success of the Netbook, which are mostly powered by the 1.6GHz Atom processor. Intel unveils its 2GHz variance. The new chip was was introduced by Intel senior vice president Anand Chandrasekher at the Intel Developer Forum in Beijing.
The new chip (codenamed Z550) runs at higher clock speed while remains as sub-3W power requirement. The chip also introduces Intel’s infamous Hyperthreading technology, which promises better processing parallelism. We should expect the new wave of netbooks equipped with the Z550 at Summer end.
