Sprint goes green with Solio Mono Hybrid charger

This summer, you can linger at the beach not worrying about your mobile gadget running out of juice. Sprint’s new cell phone charger has an integrated solar cell to allow for “mobile charging,” as the solar cell is capable of charging a lithium ion battery using just the sun’s rays.

Sprint also launches a new website based on the environment and can be accessed at http://www.sprint.com/green. The site provides users with details for its green mobile applications and other initiatives. These include wireless recycling programs, e-billing options and green tips like using the mobile GPS to calculate the fastest route in order to save gas. The company also adds a new green-themed channel to its Sprint Exclusive Entertainment TV programming. This allows consumers to view green type of content on their mobile handsets.
