Sprint to outsource its network maintenance to Ericsson
Sprint is still suffering millions of dollar and subscriber lost in the first quarter of 2009. Sprint is expected to have an earning conference call today to outline its recovery plan for the quarters to come. I am sure that the Palm Pre launch is the only big hope, the ailing wireless network relies on.
The other measures include a deal with Ericsson to outsource Sprint network maintenance to Ericsson, which will transfer from 5,000 to 5,000 current Sprint employees to Ericsson
According to the Wall Street Journal, the two companies are in final negotiation stage to complete the deal, which could cut Sprint operating costs by around 20%.
