More information on next Palm device, Pixie

Now the Palm Pre launch is behind us. We get more information about the follow-on Palm Pixie, a lower-end phone that will be priced competitively at $99. The Pixie seems to target first, the Palm Centro customers with a form factor similar to the popular Centro, which is a candybar phone with frontal QWERTY keyboard.

Palm manufacturing partner Compal promises to deliver the phone for the holiday buying season, says Collins Stewart analyst Ashok Kumar.

The Pixie phone is expected to run on Palm’s new Web OS operating system. There has also been speculation that another Palm Web OS device — dubbed EOS, is headed to AT&T later this year.  [Via TheStreet]
