Palm Pre Touchstone costs $5 to make!
Mobile phone users are sick and tired to deal with wires, charger, several types of plugs, etc.. Folks at Palm understood that frustration and answer with a well acclaimed “Touchstone”, an accessory that charges the Palm Pre just by putting the device on top without any plugging needed (this is the same inductive power charger of your electric toothbrush).
Folks at ifixit.com just dissected both the Palm Pre and the Touchstone. You might ask why? Well I was told, stock investors are eager to know the component makers should this phone becomes very popular.. Got it? Now get back to the Touchstone, folks from ifixit confirmed the cost of components would be around $5 while Palm is selling it like hot cake for $70 a peace. What does that mean to you? unless you already have it and happily paid the hefty price to be the first on the bloc Pre-having this coolness. Third party vendors should rolling up their sleeves right now to make one of these at mush lower margin for your charging pleasure.
