Unscientific speed test between Palm Pre, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3G S by Cnet
Folks at CBS/Cnet have conducted an “unscientific” real-life testing of the 3 hot phones on market. The first test based on the cold start time of the device. Note that you do not have to perform a cold start every time you use the phone. The second test consists of the browser speed, in which, the testers did not specify if they indeed clear the cache before they go to a Web site and various network speeds provide by Sprint, EV-DO, AT&T Edge and AT&T 3G certainly contribute to the difference. The third test consists of taking picture and post on the Internet, etc.., which is not conclusive since there are so many factors such resolution, size and network speed at the location ..
Based on this short test, beside the startup time, the Pre seems to be a worthy contender to the iPhone. But again, this is a very small aspect of many others features, functions..But one thing for sure is the new iPhone 3G S seems to fulfill its claim about speed. Substantial speed improvements have been observed in every aspect when compared to the iPhone 3G.
So enjoy watching the Cnet crew in their test. [Thanks to huytranit86]
