image Google Voice App, a VoIP based-phone switching service was rejected  after the submission for approval to Apple App Store. In a statement, a Google spokesperson admits the rejection and promises  the company will still pursue its goal to provide the service perhaps with a Web-based app.

Two weeks ago, Google made available its Voice app for Android and Blackberry, at the time, Google implies another version for the iPhone platform was ready. The other apps reportedly using Google Voice-based were also removed from the app store.

First Skype, SlingPlayer Mobile and now Google Voice are blocked as iPhone app. The main reason: They all compete with the core business of AT&T, the iPhone’s exclusive carrier.

At this point we are not certain that Apple would allow the app run only with WiFi connection similarly Skype and SlingPlayer.  [Via InformationWeek]
