Final version of Windows 7 is going to PC makers
Today Microsoft Windows development team has reached an important milestone, the RTM (Release-To- Manufacturing) code of Windows 7 has been delivered to Microsoft partners preparing to deliver new PCs timed to hit at General Availability (GA) of Windows 7 on October 22nd. Along with the consumer version, Windows Server 2008 R2 has also been released to manufacturing.
The RTM Windows build is also referred as 7600.16385 was compiled few weeks ago. Reportedly the last Beta that was released to Public last May was indeed very close to this final build, there is no new features and functions beside some last tweaks. [Via Windows Team Blog]
