Google Voice App for Blackberry and Android
Google Voice, the “one phone number for life” service has been opened up slowly to users for the last few weeks. The free service essentially rings your home, office, mobile phone and delivers transcribed voicemail from a single number that user obtain from Google for free.
This sounds great except one fact, when you place a call, your recipient will see the incoming call number that could be different from your Google Voice number
But starting tomorrow, Google might find a solution. If you are the lucky one that have been selected to be Google voice user and you happen to use an Android or a Blackberry user, a Google Voice app will be available for you.
With the new applications, Google Voice users will be able to make calls, SMS from their smartphones with their Google Voice numbers displayed on the other end of the call. And transcribed voice mail will be delivered inside the app.
For Smartphone users, Google Voice will make the carrier phone number irrelevant. The app will be available on Android Market or on Google’s mobile site. Blackberry user can grab the app from Google.
