LG aims to be #2 in mobile space
In an interview with Yonhap News Agency, Ahn Seung-kwon, president for LG’s mobile business, determines to take over Samsung’s second spot in mobile phone market within 2 years. He also went ahead to lay out LG aggressive plan to gain market share. The plan includes a “Back-label” series phone to compete with the iPhone; a new “Prada” handset and an LG new luxury line similar to Lexus for Toyota.
LG is positioned as #3 worldwide behind Nokia and Samsung. Recently LG signed up with Microsoft for its smartphone line of business.
