Microsoft is near to open retail stores.. next to rival
As we shared with you last February that Microsoft will open a series of retail stores to create a better purchase experience for consumer for its upcoming product releases including Windows 7 ..
Today, Kevin Turner, Microsoft’s Chief Operating Officer, told partners the news during his Worldwide Partner Conference keynote that the plan is on schedule for fall debut.
The new stores will be more of brand building rather than retail outlets and perhaps few of them will be located “strategically” near existing Apple stores..
David Porter, Microsoft Corporate VP supervises this project. Porter reports to Microsoft Chief Operating Officer Kevin Turner. He is joining Microsoft from DreamWorks Animation SKG, where he was head of worldwide product distribution. Prior to DreamWorks, Porter spent 25 years at Wal-Mart Stores Inc
