FiOS TV’s New Widget Bazaar Applications Marketplace and Internet Video Service Will Help Subscribers Extend Their Online Lives to Social TV Company Plans Open Development Platform for FiOS TV Widgets
Verizon FiOS TV continues to advance innovation leadership in interactive TV with the launch of two new and highly anticipated social TV services – the Widget Bazaar applications store and Internet Video on TV.

image Verizon has worked with social media innovators Facebook Connect, Twitter, ESPN, Veoh, blip.tv, and Dailymotion to create a  converged Internet-to-television experience that lets FiOS TV subscribers connect with others while watching TV, plus search and view a variety of online, personal PC-based videos on their television screens.

Verizon also plans an open development platform to permit developers to write interactive FiOS TV applications that will be available through the Widget Bazaar.

The new services combine television’s experiences with the Internet’s social networking capabilities to create entirely new ways for customers to connect and engage via the biggest screens in their home – their TVs.

I enjoy my Logitech review that I have with my provider/employer DISH Network. It’s similar to what Verizon Fios carries, but better. With DISH I am not just able to tag what I am watching. I can share my thoughts and everything on my Facebook. I can surf the web and twitter at the same time as watching TV.I always Twitter while I am watching my shows and gossip about them. I love it!
