image The Inquirer conducts a “lounge-side interview” with an Windows Mobile unnamed person showcasing his HTC Touch Diamond2 running the latest Windows Mobile6.5.

Along with the demo of new Zune-like UI, Microsoft app store, My Phone, etc.., few interesting details were mentioned during the conversation (some of them have been revealed previously).

  • HTC, Samsung, Sony devices will feature Windows Mobile 6.5 around the holiday. Users of existing devices such the HTC Touch HD, Touch Por2, Diamond2 will be able to upgrade to the latest WM 6.5 version
  • When Windows Mobile 7 becomes available, Microsoft will market it as premium experience on high-end devices, while still maintaining presence of WM 6.5 as “low cost, breadth” play. This co-existing scheme N and N-1 will continue with later versions of Windows Mobile. Hence the rebranding to Windows Phone to blur the 2 versions
  • Internet Explorer on WM 6.5 will have full-Flash support
  • Microsoft tag app: used for a number of purposes from linking to online content to easily giving someone your contact information for storage on your phone
