Prepare for new crop, carriers might drop Smartphone price to $99

We have heard rumor of Sprint dropping the Palm Pre to $99 and today is Verizon turn. BGR reports the largest CDMA carrier in the US will drop almost all existing smartphone line up to $99 with 2-year contract.
The reduce-priced smartphones include the HTC Touch Pro, Blackberry Storm.
