Dell Lattitude Z, First Laptop with Wireless Charging

The laptop market share has seen a declined in sales due to the popularity of the affordable Netbook. Vendors certainly find the way to maintain the higher margin laptop, especially in the high-end. Computer makers do it the right way with innovation as shown by Dell. After the first experience with its executive line Adamo, which focused on the svelte  form factor mimicking the Apple Macbook Air, Dell just unveiled the Lattitude Z, armed with both look and innovation.

The innovation here is the way Dell address a big dilemma laptop user for cumbersome charging accessories and connection when docking on the desk side. The Dell Lattitude Z offers an inductive wireless charging system. The laptop has power coils built in to the base of the notebook and so it charges wirelessly, through a magnetic inductive stand that’s an extra $200. Another accessory that allow user to connect all peripherals including the external monitor. The laptop can connect wirelessly to this device via  built-in Ultra Wide Band technology built-in.

The Lattitude Z offers 16” display at 4.5lbs; the body features magnesium alloy chassis and angled chrome plated hinges. Checking browser, email without the need to boot Windows and a quick side touch pad called EdgeTouch is used as quick launcher.
